The American Revolution in 1775 had one main character and his event -
Paul Revere and his "midnight ride." Ever wonder why that ride was so
successfully taken by Revere? Paul Revere had already established
himself as a person to be respected and listened to. The people already
knew that if Revere said it, you know he's done his homework.

The Bible calls for us to be that kind of person. When we read
Scripture like 1 Peter 3:15, "Always be ready to give a defense to everyone who
asks you a reason for the hope that is in you..." We know that we have
homework to do before we ride out into the night. People want to know!
What is it that makes you what you are? We can't say one thing then
turn around and do something else. People see that.

In the first chapter of Luke, verse 8 we read about John the Baptizer's
parents and in verse 6 we read, "And they were both righteous before
God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord
blameless."

Hard shoes to fill, but if we want to make a difference in life - to
help someone win the battle, we need to start now.
