Hearing profanity really bothers me. It seems we hear it so often today - people
use foul talk on TV, on the streets, even at our workplace. It seems some just
have a very limited vocabulary. People who use the Lord's name in vain are to
be pitied for their unbelief.

Exodus 20:7 says, "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain...."

People whose lives are profane - cheating, lying, stealing, are not just living in vain.
God will judge them, I don't have to. I need to govern my tongue and my life that there
be no word or deed that profanes God's name.

Psalm 111:9 says, "...holy and reverend is His name." Think about it! Understand just what
that verse is saying. If His name is reverend, how can we call someone here on earth
Reverend?
