It is best that we pay attention to the small things, like the small print on that
insurance policy. Sometimes it is best when we listen to the whisper instead
of the shout. 1 Kings 19:12 gives us an interesting verse to think about. It
tells us: "And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and
after the fire a still small voice."
Hello! That's what we ought to pay attention to, right? When I was younger
I heard people say, "Speak softly but carry a big stick." Ever hear that one?
People seem to lean into hearing when someone speaks in a whisper. When
I concentrate, it helps me not to miss anything. It is a good fellowship - me,
listening and God speaking in that still, small voice. God doesn't need an
amplification system, but when He speaks, He does ask for and expects,
an attentive ear. I am glad that I can hear my Savior calling and when He
does, I'll go with Him, with Him all the way!
