Whether I turn right or turn left, the choice is up to me. The ability for me to
turn either way is up to God. Any of us can move to do the right thing or
continue in doing what we know is wrong. God will allow us to make our
own choice about which path we will determine to take, but that doesn't
mean that He is pleased.
Galatians 6:7-8 says, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever
a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the
flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap
everlasting life."
You can't fool God, in other words, He knows what we are up to. He reminds
us that if we don't follow the path He has laid out for us, we will suffer the
consequences. It seems so simple to me. Do this and you will be rewarded
richly. Do that and you will be rewarded, but not in the way you would like.
