In ancient days, people built great walls to protect themselves from the enemy.
The only way in was to scale those walls. Of course, if you left the gate open
or the drawbridge down, it was a simple matter to just walk right in.

II Thessalonians 3:3 says, "But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and
guard you from the evil one."

Two things are promised in that verse: strength and a wall. The Lord's strength,
because He is faithful, will set us up a wall of protection. When we turn to the Lord
and are obedient to His commandments, we get that strong-hold. It is then up to
us to keep watch that we don't forget to close the gate or lift the drawbridge.

Evil has a way of looking for a careless soul who leaves themselves open to attack.
Be ready! Stand guard!
