We are a work in process. No matter how old we are, we are still growing.
We may not be growing taller physically, but we are growing taller in our
thinking. We are growing in the way we handle the situations that come
our way. If we have dealt with something once, does that mean we can
now handle it properly? No, that shows we are growing and that most
of the time we are powerless except when we rely on God. This helps
us to finally embrace what Romans 7:24 asks: "O wretched man that
I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?" Then, verse 25
injects this: "I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then,
with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the
law of sin." Don't grow so tall that you can not see God in every
aspect of your life!
