"Please Lord." Is that a prayer we utter out loud or whisper at times? Are we
really saying, "please Lord, please me"? When things around us, like a doctor's
report, a job expectancy, or anything important coming up, we usually have a little
selfish prayer, "please Lord!" That is understandable. Deuteronomy 32:3 says,
"For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God." That verse
is telling us to proclaim the name and praise the greatness of God. I wonder if that
prayer ought to include: "Lord, I hope what I am doing with my situation pleases
You!" We grow spiritually when we are able to go through something and come
out of it with the idea that we hope that we did what pleased God.
