It is not cheerfulness we need in times when things seem difficult, we need trust.
We need to know that our friends are there for us and we need to know that we
have a solid relationship. We also want that relationship with God. A smile goes
a long way, but a hand that reaches out is even more comforting. There is a verse
in Nahum 1:7 that tells us, "The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble;
And He knows those who trust in Him." Holding hands with God is knowing where
we are going.
