This blind man was sitting on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet
and a sign that said, "I am blind, please help me." One day a publicist was
going by that way and saw the man and his sign. Without asking, he took
the man's sign and on the back on it he wrote another sign. He replace the
sign to the original position with the new side showing and left.

Later in the day he returned to the location to find the blind man still sitting
in the same place with a hat full of money. This time he stopped to talk to
the man. During their conversation, the sign was mentioned and the blind
man asked he what changes he had made to the sign. The publicist assured
the man that the sign contained only true information, and that he had just
added a different perspective. The publicist left without tell the man what the
sign said. The blind man never knew, but the new sign said, "Today is Spring -
And I can not see it."

It is very possible for one to have a great need, and not be able to pinpoint it,
much less describe that need. More to the point, it is quite possible for
someone to be completely blind to their greatest need. Revelation 3:17 says,
"Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’
—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked—".
Our greatest need in revealed before our eyes in God's Word. That need is
salvation from sin.

In John the 9th chapter, we see Jesus healing a man who was blind from birth.
There is a double healing that goes on here. John 9 shows us Jesus giving him
physical sight, but MOST importantly spiritual sight. He was able to see the
world around him, be he also developed FAITH in Jesus as the Son of God.
Jesus continued this lesson, not just to the formerly blind man, but to the
self-righteous Pharisees and all that were there by saying in verse 39,
"For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see,
and that those who see may be made blind.”

We need to travel today, and every day, with our eyes fully open. Open to the
spiritual things, and physically to look for those who are still blind to the things
of God!

Have a great day!
