Dr. Howard was a noted minister from Australia. after a very strongly worded sermon
on sin, one of the people in attendance told him, "You shouldn't talk so openly about
the guilt and corruption of sin. You might offend someone. If our young people hear
you talking, they could more easily become sinners. If you would just call it a "MISTAKE"
or an "ERROR IN JUDGMENT" it would be better than talking so plainly and openly
about SIN."
At this comment Dr. Howard took out a small bottle and showed it to the person.
The label clearly stated, "STRYCHNINE" and in BOLD, RED Letters the word,
"POISON". Dr. Howard said, "Do you know what you are asking me to do?
You are suggesting that I CHANGE THE LABEL!! And what if I did? What
if I was to paste a label over this one that said, 'Essence of Peppermint'. Don't
you see what would happen? Someone would use this, not knowing the danger
involved, and would certainly die."
With the matter of sin, the Bible is very clear! The MILDER you make your
LABEL for sin, the more DANGEROUS you make the POISON!! The world
has tried to re-label SIN, but the Bible still hold the real label, and the only one
that matters. The book of Leviticus shows how God feels about sin.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
