Good Morning! The mailing from Friday never went out due to a
failure at our server. So, I have reset some things, and will try this
again. Thank you for you patience.
Most all of you have see the "Roaming Gnome" commercials by now.
But, did you realize that this campaign springs from a true story. It all
started with a woman who had Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in
her yard as lawn orniments. One morning she went out in her yard and
found that Grumpy was missing. SHe searched everywhere. All around
her neighborhood and asked around the area, but no one had any information.
She consigned herself to the fact that Grumpy was gone.
After several weeks, she awoke to find Grumpy right back where he had
always stood, and just as grump as ever. But, he had something taped
to him. It was a photo album. A the woman opened the album she was
presented with photo after photo of Grumpy standing in front of the
Eiffel Tower, Grumpy at Big Ben in London. The pictures cataloged
Grumpy's travels that took him around the world. The woman said she
was not angry, and she was glad he was back and it seemed he had a great
vacation. The only thing that we notice is, he was just as grumpy as when
he left.
It is an amazing fact that God shows US His wonders and educates us in
His ways, yet through this amazing journey so many of us, like the grumpy
lawn orniment, remain unchanged, unaffected, untouched.
Consider His creation. The heavens declare the glory of God;
And the firmament shows His handiwork. (Psalm 19:1) and in Romans 1:20,
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen,
being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and
Godhead, so that they are without excuse,".
Consider His communication. 2 Timothy 2:16-17 tells us, "All Scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for
instruction in righteousness,
17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Throughout God's word we are able to know God and His will for our lives.
Consider the cross of Jesus the Christ, the Son of God. For God so loved the world
that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish
but have everlasting life. Of course that is from John the 3rd chapter, and verse 16.
And now 1 John 4:9-10, In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God
has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him.
10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be
the propitiation for our sins.
