While searching the web not too long ago I found an intriguing title that stated:
The Bible in 50 Words!
Here they are:
God made
Adam bit
Noah arked
Abraham split
Joseph ruled
Jacob fooled
Bush talked
Moses balked
Pharaoh plagued
People walked
Sea divided
Tablets guided
Promise landed
Saul freaked
David peeked
Prophets warned
Jesus born
God walked
Love talked
Anger crucified
Hope died
Love rose
Spirit flamed
Word spread
God remained.
While I know that this is just a list on a website, this is also a very real situation
in the world - and in the church. People want a quick, Cliff's Notes version of
the Bible. They would rather have someone tell them what they are supposed to
do, than to dig in and find it for themselves.
Proverbs 30:5-6
5 Every word of God is pure;
He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
6 Do not add to His words,
Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.
And in Revelation 22:7, the Lord puts an urgency to knowing all of the words.
“Behold, I am coming quickly! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy
of this book.”
Have a great Wednesday!
