Hosea 13:6 -
When they had pasture, they were filled;
They were filled and their heart was exalted;
Therefore they forgot Me.
What a sad (but true) state of affairs in this world. In the past few
years, I have had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people who were
experiencing difficulty in their lives. In the hospital, faced with their
own mortality, a lot of people turn straight to God, knowing that He
is in control. But, the farther away from an incident we get, the less
we feel we need God.
The perfect example of this, that we all can remember, is
September 11, 2001. The days that followed this terrible event saw the country,
even politicians, turning their hearts and mind toward God. It was amazing to see
congress members singing "God Bless America" on the steps of the capital building,
and prayers being offered and called upon from all corners of the government,
and the country. People were looking toward the One who is in control for
their help, their guidance and their salvation.
But, just a few days later, all of that changed. Here we are 5 years down the
road and we are facing the same spiritual challengers as before the tragedy.
Possibly even worse! How soon we forget! It is bad enough that we live
in an ungrateful world, but we can not afford to be ungrateful Christians.
Do we sometimes put so much focus on the things that God gave you
that you forget about God?
Malachi 1:2 -
“ I have loved you,” says the LORD.
“ Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’ ...
Never forget the wonderful gifts that have come from God! Count your
MANY blessings today!
Have a great day everyone!
