Breakfast on the beach. Doesn't that sound good? Imagine having breakfast
on a beach with close friends and not having to prepare it! That is what we can
read about in John 21. Verse 4 sets the stage: "But when the morning was now
come, Jesus stood on the shore; but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus."
Then, verse 9 continues: "As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire
of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread." Jesus had prepared breakfast for His
friends and later told them to come and dine. What a fellowship, what a joy divine!
We can gain such a picture of delight when we read these verses.

Paul, in writing to the young preacher, Timothy, told him to pay attention to reading
(1 Timothy 4:13). Later in 2 Timothy 4:13, Paul reminded him to bring his (Paul's)
reading materials to him when he came to visit. Reading from God's Word can bring
us such pleasure. One reader RECEIVES FROM books while another reader DOES
things with books. The Bible is filled with such wonderful things to read about. It makes
me want to be in the companionship of those who wrote the words. I can put myself
into the setting. Do you realize that we have the opportunity from our Creator to see
Him revealed to us through His Word? We gain insight into what God is like through
the actions of His Son, Jesus. See the compassion, the human traits, and the desires
He shows us. It is all contained within the pages He gave us to read from.

Have you done your reading today? There are mysteries, wild territories, intrigues,
and more there to be discovered. I hope your discoveries lead you closer to God and
a wonderful day!
