Sometimes words are so descriptive, aren't they? Psalm 119:105 says, "Your
word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." No one can argue with that
description. Scriptures talk to us in pictures like that sometimes. I read them,
I see them, and I recognize what they are saying to me. Sometimes with that
kind of picture language, it says it better than any other way for me to understand
it. God's Word is a lamp. It is a light for us, and words alone can't make that any
clearer to understand than seeing a lamp being held up to light the way we should
walk. That light is there to help me see better and when I see better I know the
best way to walk.
Mark 16:16 gives light for us to take action when we see God's Word. It says,
"He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be
condemned." Powerful light with a clear message, that's for me!
