Someone could make a lot of money by putting out a new translation of the Bible
with fill-in blanks. You know what I mean? Just fill in the blank of what you want it
to say so that you are comfortable with it. Sadly, the Bible isn't that way.
In Matthew 4 when Jesus was being tempted by Satan, He used, "It is written," to
answer Satan. "It is written" by whom? By our Creator through men that He inspired
to write the words. Revelation 22 warns us not to add to or take away from the words
that God has given to us.
Matthew 5:18 says, "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one
jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."
A "jot" is the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet and a "tittle" is nothing but an accent
mark. We, sometimes, assume we are smart enough to know what we want and what
we want to do. God knows what is best and He has given us The Book, The Bible, as
He knows the beginning and ending of the story.
Don't fill-in blanks! Use it as He gave it!
