The national education budget for 2006 in this country is reported as $69.4 billion.
That billion with a "B"! According to a 2003 study, 97% of this country is literate.
The enrollment in schools (primary, secondary and post-secondary) is reported as
76.6 million with 85% attaining their diploma. We are an educated country!

We study so many subjects, and become adept at things outside of our formal
education. I know people (and you do to) who never took a course on it, but
have become skilled artisans, able to create things and build things that only
existed before in their minds eye. But in all of these things I think we miss the
bigger picture. In all of this 'higher learning', there is a higher calling.

Proverbs 1:7 tells us,
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise
wisdom and instruction.

In fact, we see that arise in the proverbs twice, and the second time gives us a
bit more to think on.

Proverbs 9:9-10
9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser;
Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.
10 “ The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Trying to gain understanding of our Awesome God is a noble pursuit. It is the
true quest for the knowledge that will sustain you, not only in this life, but in the one
that is to come.

2 Timothy 2:14-16
14 Remind them of these things, charging them before the Lord not to strive about
words to no profit, to the ruin of the hearers.
15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to
be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness.

Enjoy your day, and increase in your knowledge and love of God!
