Looking clean and all spruced up is deceiving to a degree. We are all dressed
up and can be ready for someone to take our picture. That, sadly, only shows our
outside self. What is on the inside doesn't show up in a photograph.
I use Psalm 51:10 on myself quite a lot, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and
renew a right spirit within me." That is my prayer. Wash my attitude, wash my
outlook, and wash my hypocrisy so that when You inspect me I can be truly clean.
I want to have a right spirit within me so that no corruption will remain inside. It can
make all the difference when our inside is as clean as our outside appears.
Matthew 23:26 says it this way: "First clean the inside of the cup and of the plate,
that the outside also may be clean."
