What if I made my own measuring devices. I could tell you I was 6 feet 2 inches
tall, weighed 180 lbs. and was as handsome as a movie star. However, we have
a standard by which we all know what a true yardstick is and the scale is universal.
Isn't that the way the Bible is - our standard that we all should know and use?

There is that line in Philippians 2:12 that says, "...work out your own salvation with
fear and trembling."

That is telling us not to make up our own, but to use what God gave us. Then make
our lives fit that pattern or measurement of faith. In Mark 10:52, Jesus told the blind
man, "your faith has made you well". Believe, repent, obey and be baptized - that's
our standard for becoming a Christian. Will our faith make us well?
