The big pine tree in my front yard has been there a long time. It has, what I am told,
a deep tap-root. That tap-root, if it is cut, will stunt the growth of a tree.
Ephesians 3:17-20 says, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you,
being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend ..and know the love
of Christ."
Just as that tap-root will reach deep down for nourishment, I must reach deep into the
Scriptures to find nourishment for my soul. I can find the love of Christ and understand
why He could love me. I can grow tall in that love. I can find someone who understands
me. The deeper I go, the more I grow. I want to grow deeper in everything You want
me to grow in. That's my prayer today. What is yours?
