Have you ever met someone with an inferiority complex? Someone who never felt
like they were good enough. And I don't mean just in sports or something like that.
I really mean spiritually. It is a scary thing to see. On the outside, you can really
feel helpless. It is so hard to see someone suffer, but what words can we say that
would change the tide.
As you probably know by now, one of my favorite places to turn, not just in my
preaching, but especially in my own personal studies, is the book of Psalms.
Psalm 34:17 is such a comfort. It tells us, "The righteous cry out, and the LORD
hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles."
Psalm 55:22-23 again comforts us by saying,
22 Cast your burden on the LORD,
And He shall sustain you;
He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
23 But You, O God, shall bring them down to the pit of destruction;
Bloodthirsty and deceitful men shall not live out half their days;
But I will trust in You.
So there are promises. But wait, that is the root of the problem. The person feels
that they do not deserve anything. But, we have an awesome God!
Hebrews 10:35-36 says,
35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward.
36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God,
you may receive the promise
So the Bible, God's inspired word, is telling us that if we are trying to do God's will
we are not to cast away our confidence. Once more to Psalms. Chapter 103,
verses 2 through 5 says,
2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things,
So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
None of us deserve the gifts from God. But His tender mercy is far more
than the human mind can comprehend. I thank the Lord for that!
Please have a safe, and wonderful weekend!
