Wow! Talk about short-sighted thinking. People who apparently refused
to see beyond their own nose. The kind of statement that comes back to
haunt you. How many people do we know who make that kind of statement
when it comes to the facts about God, Jesus and the Bible.
Psalm 14:1 says, "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God.' They are
corrupt, They have done abominable works, There is none who does good."
We live in such a time that it is popular for people to spout off such foolishness.
The April 8, 1966 issue of Time magazine had a cover that asked the question,
"Is God Dead?"
Friedrich Nietzsche made the
statement in his work, 'The Gay Science', "God is dead. God remains dead.
And we have killed him."
Nietzsche was trying to say that we need a new model to follow. The general
culture had lost its need and desire to continue that path. I have heard many
quote these sentiments, and echo this theme in my life time, but the quote
that I have tried to echo is, "My soul longs, yes, even faints For the courts of
the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God." (Psalm 84:2)
There is a song that is sung in some congregations that does speak of how
the Christian should feel. It is taken from the book of Psalms, and I will leave
you with its quote taken from those verses in Psalm 42:1-3.
As the deer pants for the water
So my soul longs after You
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You
You alone are my strength, my shield
To You alone may my spirit yield
You alone are my heart's desire
And I long to worship You
And the original...
1 As the deer pants for the water brooks,
So pants my soul for You, O God.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When shall I come and appear before God?
3 My tears have been my food day and night,
While they continually say to me,
“Where is your God?”
When they ask where is your God, remember, "There is hope
is God!" And give them your answer.
Have a great day!
