Where do you live? I guess I need to really give more clarity to that question,
shouldn't I? I mean, where do you live in the time line of life. I know you are
probably wondering where I am going with this. I am asking if you, like so
many people, live in the past? Do you constantly look back at different points
in your life, and think, "If I could go back and do that again, I would do it differently."
or "I wish I could go back and change that."
We can get so caught up in our past, that it causes us to lose sight of our
present, and most definitely our future. We all have things in our past that,
if given the chance, we might like to re-live, now that we have the benefit of
hindsight. But, we can't live that way and continue on our way toward Heaven.
Paul says in Philippians 3:12-14
12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on,
that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.
13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do,
forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those
things which are ahead,
14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
We can't change one second of our past. But we can move forward, using what
we have learned from our experience, and most importantly from God's word
to make sure we stay on the right path.
