How do we stand when so many things go crazy in the world. We have leaders
in this world striving to become even more evil. Everyday we wake up to find
more acts of terrorism have taken place over night. In the last three week, we
can count no less than four school shootings. It seems like this old world is just
spiraling of control. It is enough to stop you in you tracks some times. At these
times, more than ever, we need to be still and turn to scripture.
Genesis 18:22 "Then the men turned away from there and went toward Sodom,
but Abraham still stood before the LORD. "
Numbers 9:8 And Moses said to them, “Stand still, that I may hear what the
LORD will command concerning you.”
1 Samuel 12:7 "Now therefore, stand still, that I may reason with you before
the LORD concerning all the righteous acts of the LORD which He did to you and
your fathers: "
Nehemiah 8:11 "So the Levites quieted all the people, saying, “Be still, for the day
is holy; do not be grieved.”
Job 37:14 “Listen to this, O Job; Stand still and consider the wondrous works of
God. "
Psalm 4:4 "Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.

Now, remember the statement, "If something is talked about more than once in the Bible,
you should probably pay close attention to it!"
In Mark 4:39, Jesus, our Savior, commanded even the elements with, “Peace, be still!”
And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
That is the power that we have to trust in. That is also the power that we read of in the
famous passage from
Psalm 46:9-11 -
9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
He burns the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
11 The LORD of hosts is with us;
The God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah
Take heart, and be of good cheer, our Awesome God is with us through the storm!
Have a great day!
