As a minister, I get so many questions that cause me to pause and really think.
Sadly, a lot of the questions have answers that people don't want to hear. They
have subjects like, "Why didn't God do it this way?" or "Why didn't God tell us about
this or that?" But it does not stop there. They can even go deeper, and much more
personal. "Why did God not answer my prayers?" In these situations, my mind
goes back to two passages in Mark.
In Mark 8:13-21, Jesus is with His disciples, who had forgotten to bring more bread.
Jesus gives them a warning in Mark 8:15. He said, "Take heed, beware of the leaven
of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod." The disciples, trying to reason out what
Jesus was saying, fixated on the bread, missing the point Jesus was making.
Beware not to let in the things of the world, or the unbelievers! But, they didn't make
the connection. Jesus then questioned them about their understanding of things.
In Mark 2:8, Jesus asked the same question, "Why do you reason about these things
in your hearts?" It is almost like Jesus is saying, "There is a little thing called faith
that you may have heard me talk about."
He gave us proof, upon proof, but yet we still question the power. Time and time again
we are told the way, but we still have to question and "reason in our hearts". There is a
reason that God didn't give us ALL the information that we require. Because, it was not
a requirement for HIS plan. And someday, we will know that there were NO unanswered
prayers. Even if the answer was no.
Rest assured in the FACT that Jesus is Lord! God is in control! That should be the
facts that give us peace throughout our lives! Have a wonderful day!
