When my family lived in Florida, one of our neighbors had a wonderful tangerine
tree in his backyard. It grew so tall that the fruit would hang over his fence into the
alley. He always invited us to eat tangerines from those branches. We never
went into the yard to get fruit. I could get those luscious tangerines without ever
seeing the actual tree. There is a spiritual truth in that. We haven't seen Heaven.
We haven't seen Christ. We haven't seen God but we have tasted the wonderful
fruit through the eyes of faith. We have certainly seen the glory of Jesus and we
read about the promise of Heaven. John 1:18 tells us, "No man has seen God
at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, He has
declared Him." We don't need to see it to know that those things exist.
