I was watching a TV program the other day and it showed two men meeting in
what is called a ghost town. I was so caught up in looking at the surroundings of
this once-thriving town, that I lost interest in the subject of the program I was
watching. As usual, I was looking at ghost town information on the web and
my mind turned to scripture. Proverbs 25:28 to be exact. The scripture says,
"Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls."

What a sad state of affairs! It is true, isn't it? If you do not have the type of self-control
that the Bible tells us about, we have our defenses down. No walls to keep out the
troublemakers. We can then be taken over, and eventually destroyed.

We have to be so careful to keep our spiritual-selves in control, and not give the
carnal-self reign in our lives. This seems like a very simple statement, but I will
remind you of the scripture found in Luke 21:33-35. Jesus speaking said,
"Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.
“But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing,
drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly.
For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth."

Keep yourself close to God by study and prayer always. Teach those that you care
about the truth today!

Have a great day!
