One of the many benefits of Bible reading is that we are exposed to things that
will help us see ourselves clearer. That may seem strange at first, but if we truly
dig into God's Word we will find ourselves and the situations that surround us.
How someone who is presented in the Bible handles issues can help us see that
we, too, can handle them in much the same way. We will notice that trust and
obedience play an important part. The great heroes of the Bible are shown with
flaws but they are also shown as overcomers. We may have faults, but if our faith
is solid we can rise above those faults. 2 Corinthians 13:5 is our reminder:
"Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves."
